Portrait of mixed race family in Portland during social distancing
"We feel so fortunate, that is what this pandemic has made us realize more than anything. When our biggest worries are whether or not we will have to play Monopoly, again, or do another jig-saw puzzle? Or how to keep an eight year old occupied while we are having meetings online for work? These are hardly a reason for real stress or complaining, though admittedly, we often do.
We see what is happening, to the world, to our country, to our family and friends. Loss of employment, isolation, concerns about income, future stability, sickness and even death. We read about and know so many who are suffering, scared, frustrated or depressed. We can only hope for a better tomorrow and do our part to help those when we can.
We are fortunate to have so much and we recognize that the best thing we have is each other."
